George Elton Mayo Elton Mayo was born in Adelaide, South Australia on 26 December 1880 and died in Guildford, Surrey on 1 fellowship 1949. He was the second child of a respected blend family; his father was a civil engineer, and his mother Henrietta Mary neé Donaldson was devoted to her childrens education and success.
